Samantha Gambino, PsyD
Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst

I believe in creating deep, meaningful connections with everyone I work with, so that you feel seen, heard and understood — and leave each session better equipped to manage life’s stressors.

My Approach

Three ideas guide every session.

01

Relationship‑First

Everything starts with a strong, trustworthy relationship — one that creates a safe, non‑judgmental space to explore what’s really going on.

02

A Developmental Lens

I connect current challenges to family history and developmental life stage, giving you a fuller understanding of your own story.

03

Psychodynamic Framework

Trained in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic therapy, I help you understand the patterns beneath your behavior — not just manage symptoms.

About

Samantha Gambino, PsyD

Samantha is a licensed psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience in private practice. Prior to this, she was a school psychologist for 10 years. Samantha is trained as both a child–adolescent psychologist and an adult psychoanalyst.

Samantha’s dual training allows her to understand psychological development across the lifespan, from early childhood to adulthood. This helps identify the roots of adult issues that may originate in childhood and provides deeper insight into mental health at the various stages of development.

Samantha’s expertise in psychological dynamics, ease, sense of humor, and ability to create a comfortable, non‑judgmental environment enable her to build solid, secure relationships with all her clients. She listens closely, assesses what’s needed, and formulates a clear plan to move forward together.

Samantha sees clients in person in her New York City office. She is licensed in New York State and Connecticut and is also a member of PsyPact, which allows her to conduct telehealth sessions across state lines. Samantha understands people’s busy lifestyles and is happy to adapt sessions as hybrid or fully remote when necessary.
